From April 7–13, 2025, Modena hosted the first edition of Alberi Festival: Building a City of Trees. The event was created to highlight the role of trees not only as part of the urban landscape, but also as key elements of a broader concept of city and urban space — capable of inspiring a new concept of urbanism and architecture for the future. The City of Modena organized the festival in collaboration with the Leonardi Archive Foundation. It draws inspiration from the visionary thinking of architects Cesare Leonardi and Franca Stagi: for more than twenty years, they have been studying the relationships among architecture, landscape and urban green spaces.

Haltadefinizione was among the key partners of the event, curating the Metamorphosis Pavilion with a high-impact multimedia installation: a digital ultra-high-resolution reproduction of Botticelli’s Primavera, projected onto a large LED wall and accompanied by an interactive touchscreen totem for exploring the painting.

The exhibit was made possible thanks to Memooria technology, developed using Stories Lab, the integrated storytelling module of Coosmo — Haltadefinizione’s Digital Asset Management service, which enables the management and immediate use of Gigapixel images and more. Specifically designed to manage large numbers of digital assets, Coosmo is compatible with IIIF Image and Presentation API and is flexible enough to support preservation and conservation. It allows fast content viewing and can be adapted for both open data and licensed environments.
